HVAC & Refrigeration Certification
The HVAC and Refrigeration industry is challenged to undertake a major upskilling of the workforce due to recent changes in regulation and the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies. This is driving demand for readily available information and educational resources as well as new job opportunities.
Through this Learning Platform, practitioners have an opportunity to study Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certified learning material with regard to regulations that have a significant impact on how refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump systems are installed, commissioned, serviced and maintained in industrial and commercial applications.
Some of these courses, such as the F-Gas Regulations course, prepare engineers to obtain the F-Gas Certification, which is mandatory across all EU countries, and without which engineers are not allowed to install, commission, service or maintain refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems. The subject range includes modules in the use of refrigerants that deplete the Ozone Layer and have high global warming potential covered by the Kyoto and Montreal protocols, but also other alternative and more natural technologies in the RAC sector that are environmentally friendly such as CO2 Refrigeration, also known as R744, which are currently growing in popularity due to the phase out of HCFCs and phase down of HFCs. Training in more enviromentally friendly alternatives for cooling and heating such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Ammonia (NH3), Hydrocarbons (HCs) and HFOs has become more relevant than ever to ensure competency.
